Levelwood Mapping uses GIS with data sourced from OS and other official documents to produce unique standard-criteria administrative maps and county definition charts of Great Britain and Ireland. The company has designed a standard administrative mapping system for Great Britain and Ireland creating order from the chaos of competing administrative map structures, e.g. two versions of the U.K. by the Office for National Statistics. System development necessitated an extensive common-criteria assessment of current and historic administrative geography. This has created unique standard-criteria charts showing continually evolving county and administrative definitions over a millennium; helping to identify, conserve or restore historic counties during future administrative reviews.
