The International Map Industry Association (IMIA) proudly continues its tradition of excellence with the Industry Choice Award, formerly the Best Map Award, first established in 2000 to recognize outstanding cartographic achievements by member organizations. After a brief hiatus, the prestigious engraved Best Map Cup was revived during the 2025 Mapping Leaders Forum, reaffirming IMIA’s commitment to innovation and quality in mapping.

The IMIA Awards Committee evaluates entries based on five key criteria:
1. Design and Aesthetics
2. Cartographic Technique and Accuracy
3. Purpose and Communication
4. Innovation and Creativity
5. Data Integration and Analysis

The winner will receive the International Map Industry Association Cup at the annual Mapping Leaders Forum, where excellence in mapping takes center stage.
